French prestige

The name of a region in France, situated 140 kms east of Paris, Champagne is a bubbly wine, synonym of French prestige.

In France it is the custom to drink Champagne to celebrate a joyful event, a success, an amorous occasion, a marriage…It is known worldwide: every 2 seconds a bottle of Champagne is opened somewhere in the world, with 3 billion glasses of Champagne being drunk each year!

Champagne is made from three types of grapes: pinot noir, pinot meunier and chardonnay. It is at Epernay, the capital of the wines of Champagne that you can visit the well-known caves such as Moët et Chandon, Martel, Taittinger, Lanson, Nicolas Feuillate and to taste several bottles, of course.

Take the time to visit the cathedral of Rheims where numerous kings of France were crowned. It is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage site.
